Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has sent a delegation to Kilangar community of Chan-Chan Dana district of Askira Uba LGA to condole with the victims of Boko Haram attack in the area.
The delegation led by the Borno State Deputy Speaker and member representing Askira Uba LG Hon Abdullahi Musa Askira alongside the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Reconstruction Rehabilitation and Resettlement (MRRR) Engr Mustapha Gubio Gubio were received on Tuesday evening by the Executive Chairman Askira LGA Hon Ahmed Abdullahi Ahidjo with the Commanding officer 155 battalion Askira Lt Col EA Ajayi before proceeding to Kilangar community.
The Deputy Speaker, who is the son of kilangar community and other members of the delegation were received in Kilangar by the district head of Chan-Chan Dana Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu.
The district head while narrating the incidents said, 9 lives were lost, 3 hospitalised 11 vehicles, shops, blocks of classrooms and farm products were burnt down and carted away.
Engr Abdullahi Askira while condoling his community over the incidence, said he has received report that 9 persons were killed, 3 hospitalised, 11 vehicles burnt down, 3 were carted away with over 350 bags of farm products, 9 houses, 2 blocks of classrooms and 3 shops were set ablaze and looted.
Engr Askira handed over five hundred thousand naira (500,000) cash each to nine (9) deceased families and two hundred and fifty thousand naira (250,000) to three hospitalised victims.
Engr Mustapha Gubio, while condoling the community prayed for the deceased and those whose properties were destroyed.
He lauded the Deputy Speaker for his concerns and braveness to cross Leho, Wultihiya and other communities to reach Kilangar at this late evening hours despite security challenges.
Other members of the delegation are Hon Ali Bulama Yajiwa representing Konduga LG, Hon Ali Bukar Zangeri, Special Adviser to Governor Borno on special duties, Hon Dogo M Shettima Special Assistant on MRRR among others.
