Zulum disburses N400m, food items, textiles to over 90,000 IDPs in Bama

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State on Wednesday distributed food items to over 90000 male IDPs and also disbursed N400 cash, wrappers to about women IDPs and residents of host communities in Bama town.
The Governor who personally coordinated and supervised the distribution and disbursement exercises simultaneously to ensure transparency and equality insisted that all and sundry benefitted from the poverty alleviation scheme.
He appealed to them to be calm, peaceful and remained law abiding as well as report any suspicious element that seemed threat to peace and unity of the people.
He also assured the people of government continuous support and assistance to ease their sufferings and hardships while plans have been concluded to ensure their livelihoods stabilization.
Zulum further charged them to engage in farming and other business activities as security agents provide adequate safety of their lives and property while agricultural implements and seedlings are being provided for the farming season.
It was also observed that the Male IDPs, returnee IDPs, residents of host communities defied heavy rainfall, and night to collect free food items as poverty alleviation from the state government while thousands of women IDPs, returnee IDPs, residents of Bama town and environs lined up to collect wrappers and cash.
Top state government officials like state commissioners, members of the state House of Assembly, Bama LGC, community leaders , security operatives and SEMA officials also participated and supported the governor in exercises.
