Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, on Monday personally visited scholarship students undergoing their studies in India, in a move that underscores his hands-on approach to governance,
The Governor who is on an official visit to India, first met with beneficiaries of the Borno State scholarship scheme at Sharda University in Noida.

He reassured them of his administration’s commitment to their welfare and academic success and encouraged them to focus on their studies.
“I am here today for one simple reason, to remind you that Borno state government believes in you and is investing in your future,” Zulum said.
“You are critical to the progress and rebuilding of our State, the knowledge and skills you are acquiring here will be beneficial to this and future generations. Remain focused, be disciplined, and shun all distractions. We are counting on you to return home and become the leaders and innovators who will drive our state forward.” he remarked.
Governor Zulum presented a cash assistance of N500,000 to each student, a gesture that elicited widespread joy and relief among the students.

The Governor later travelled to Lucknow, where he replicated same gesture to Borno State students at Integral University.
He also directed that the same financial assistance be extended to Borno State scholarship beneficiaries studying in Malaysia, reaffirming his commitment to fairness across all scholarship students.
The students appreciated the Governor for the visit, describing him as a compassionate and caring leader “he listened to our concerns and then gave us this financial assistance . It shows he doesn’t just make promises from afar; he comes to see us, to understand our situation. This motivates us to work harder and make Borno proud.”
The Governor was accompanied on the visit by the Permanent Secretary Government House, Barr. Mustapha Busuguma; Executive Secretary BOGIS, Engr. Adam Bukar Bababe.
