Zulum inaugurates Borno Tsangaya Education Board

Governor Babagana Zulum has inaugurated the Borno State Tsangayya/Islamiyyah Education Board to transform the eastern education system and rid the street of school children, drop outs and Al majiris roaming the streets without going to school to acquire either western or eastern education.

While inaugurating the newly established education board as part of his administration 10- point agenda at the Government House Council Maiduguri, Zulum said,” the main purpose of establishing the Borno State Tsangayya/ Islamiyyah Education Board is to reduce the number of out of school children on the street across the state so as to balance it up with the western education. “

Governor Zulum also called on all government agencies in the state including federal agencies to support and assist the board to achieve its set goals and objectives as at when due whether in cash or kind.

He assured that Borno State Government will continue to do everything possible to fund the new education board to enable it achieve its set goals and objectives of improving eastern education, welfare of Tsangaya tutors and students, educational standard, study materials, facilities among others.

In his remark, the Chairman of the Board Khalifa Sheikh Alh Aliyu Ahmad Abulfathi on behalf of members of the board, thanked the governor for appointing him and other members of the board.

He also appreciated the state Government for finding them worthy to serve in the Board while pledging that they will serve the state and humanity diligently and to the best of their ability with their respective knowledge and experiences.

Highlights of the event include special prayers and group photographs among others.
