A political activist, Kemka Ibeji has pledged to purchase the All Progressive Congress (APC) nomination and expression of interest forms for the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr.Ogbonnaya Onu, if only he declares his intention to contest for the 2023 presidency.
Mr. Ibeji, who stated this in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday, said plans are under way to raise funds to that effect.
According to him: “While I make efforts to reach Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu in a bid to persuade, encourage and make him see reason to contest and win the seat of the president of Nigeria in 2023, I have already set out plans to raise the funds to buy him Nomination and Expression of Interest forms of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC)”
“I have decided to do this on my own and with the help of my friends because of some reasons that are commonsense to all Nigerians who know this great man, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu. They have said in various places that he does not have the money to propagate and fund the enormous amount involved in the Presidential Election. It is not strange to them that a former Governor, former presidential ticket holder, former ANPP national leader and a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria since 2015 till this moment will not have the money because they know his personality”.
“Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu is an impeccable being. He is incorruptible and unblemished. He is a contented man who is not in the game and character of embezzlement of public funds. He is not mentioned in the team of unguarded avarice and will never be seen in the company of looters. He is a man guided by the principles of moderation”.
“For the aforementioned reasons, no one is in doubt that he may not be so rich to spend the huge amount of money that the contest for the presidential ticket and election will cost. But no one will also doubt that good name is worth more than money and that whoever has people has everything. The name of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu opens doors of favour and goodwill. He also has people like us with moderate income. Our pool of resources for this noble and pleasant course will be our best gift to our country and the black people across the world knowing the position of Nigeria in the life of the black race wherever”.
He added that: “I have therefore started the course and I am very sure that once he declares to run, we shall purchase the forms and ensure that he has a good run to victory at the polls. Many of us in this see it as a Corporate Social Responsibility and are doing it with great joy for the benefit of all Nigerians”
“We need an experienced leader, a calculated personality, an articulate mind, a creative image, a presentable human, a vibrant thinker, a sound mind, a friendly ruler, a humble giant, a clean hand, a true Nigerian, an unbroken and unbreakable heart built with perseverance, diligence, determination, wisdom, knowledge, understanding and integrity. One will faint in disbelief and despair of impossibility that no one person will have such qualities in Nigeria.
“Here is the good news for all Nigerians; we have found all these seemingly transcendental features in one Nigerian. Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu is the man and we urge him to come to the stage and bring peace, love, goodness and blessings which he represents to humanity for all Nigerians. Whoever is close to Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, please tell him; Nigerians are waiting for his leadership come 2023. We love him!
