2023: Utilise BVAS well to vote good leaders – ITF boss urges Nigerians

ITF Director-General, Sir Joseph Ari

The Director-General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Mr Joseph Ari, says citizens should leverage the Bimodal Voters’ Accreditation System (BVAS) to vote credible leaders in the 2023 general elections.

This was made known on Friday in Jos in a statement signed by the fund’s Director of Public Affairs Department, Mrs Suleyol Fred-Chagu.

The statement said that Ari spoke at the14th Conference of the Association of Papal Knights and Medallists in Nigeria in Jos, entitled: “Fratellii Tutti: Path to Credible Elections and Good Governance in Nigeria.”

It said that Ari called on citizens to come out and vote en masse for God-fearing leaders that would have the interest of the people at heart.

According to the statement, leaders and elites of the church ought to educate and mobilise the electorate to vote and secure their votes by staying back after casting their votes.

“We must carry out this message from the pulpit to our respective associations and various orders so that promises of righteous leadership made to us by God will be fulfilled”, the statement quoted him as saying.

It also said Ari expressed concern about the belief in some quarters that politics is a dirty game and not fit for Christians.

“This perception may in part have contributed to the succession of failed leaderships in Nigeria,” the statement also quoted Ari as saying.

“The Lord admonished Christians to shine the light of the Lord wherever they found themselves be it in politics or other endeavours.

“We must reflect our Christian virtues and values , because we are the light of the world.

“Therefore, in all cases, we must strive to be models for others to follow” he said in the statement.

It said Ari called for unity among Christians, saying that only prayers made in unity would receive answers from God.
