Mupun nation in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State has endorsed Governor Caleb Mutfwang for a second term in 2027, citing his administration’s commitment to infrastructure and human capital development across the state.
The endorsement took place recently during a rally and project inspection tour of Lankan, Kagu, and Abwor Dyis communities in Pankshin.
The event featured the unveiling of a signboard in appreciation of the governor’s developmental efforts and was attended by key stakeholders including the Executive Chairman of Pankshin Local Government Council, Hon. Felix Amos Gonung; the Chief Medical Director of Plateau State Specialist Hospital, Prof. Christopher Yilgwan; and the Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Cletus Bako Shurkuk.
Speaking during the tour, Prof. Yilgwan explained that the endorsement reflected the people’s gratitude for the governor’s renewed attention to long-abandoned projects in Mupun communities.
“This is not about politics but about development. Governor Mutfwang has revisited and completed projects that were neglected for years, especially roads and health facilities that have direct economic and public health impacts.
“Before now, accessing communities like Kagu or Lankan was almost impossible, particularly during the rainy season. Today, movement is seamless, and this has opened up the entire Mupun land. Our people are deeply grateful for what he has done,” he noted.
On his part, Hon. Gonung said the governor had fulfilled promises earlier dismissed as political statements.
“Today, we are witnesses to the transformation of decades-old dreams into reality. Roads and bridges that were thought impossible are now in use, linking our communities directly to Pankshin town,” he said.
“Our people can now access hospitals, markets, and schools easily. This has brought a new sense of belonging, and as a people, we have declared our total support for Governor Mutfwang’s re-election in 2027.”
Also speaking, Dr. Shurkuk described the endorsement as a reflection of the governor’s popularity and the positive impact of his administration across Plateau State.
“Today’s event demonstrates the love and trust the people have for His Excellency, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang,” Shurkuk said.
“The projects we inspected are only a glimpse of what is to come. With him at the helm, Plateau State will continue to experience transformation across all sectors.”
