Not fewer than 70 people were reportedly trapped after a hotel building in south-eastern China’s Quanzhou city collapsed Saturday night, CNN has reported.

The report said the city government confirmed in a statement, as well as several state media, including People’s Daily, that the hotel has been used as coronavirus quarantine center.  

It stated that around the 70 people trapped in the building, 33 people have been rescued from the debris as at 9:30PM local time.

It is unknown yet if there are any fatalities and why the building was collapsed.
