Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has been nominated for the Blueprint Newspapers 2025 Responsive Humanitarian Leadership Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership in coordinating timely, structured and impactful humanitarian responses across Nigeria, particularly in moments of crises and vulnerability.
Chairman, Editorial Board of Blueprint Newspapers, who Mrs. Zainab Suleiman-Okino, presented the nomination letter to the Director-General at the NEMA Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, explained that the nomination followed a thorough evaluation by the newspaper’s awards selection committee, which found Mrs. Zubaida Umar eminently qualified for the prestigious recognition.
Mrs. Zainab Suleiman-Okino also invited the NEMA Director- General to the forthcoming award presentation event scheduled to hold soon.
Responding, Mrs. Zubaida Umar expressed appreciation to Blueprint Newspapers for the recognition and confidence reposed in her leadership.
The Director General dedicated the nomination to the Management and staff of NEMA as well as the Agency’s partners and stakeholders for their continued support and commitment towards effective disaster management and humanitarian service delivery in the country.
