Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, Aminu Tambuwal, has expressed deep sorrow over the recent bandit attacks on Dangulbi community in Tureta Local Government Area of the state, that left scores dead.
Tambuwal, who described the killings, destruction of property, and displacement of peaceful residents as painful, tragic, and unacceptable, said the worsening insecurity has resulted into the death of thousands and rendered many persons homeless.
The senator in a condolence message on Wednesday, said he was deeply saddened and heartbroken by the attacks, that claimed innocent lives and brought untold hardship to affected families and the wider community.
He noted that the repeated attacks on innocent citizens represent a direct assault on the peace, security, and stability of communities across the state.
“These repeated attacks on innocent citizens are painful, unacceptable, and a direct assault on the peace and security of our communities,” he stated.
Senator Tambuwal extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones, prayed for the quick recovery of those injured, and expressed solidarity with all residents affected by the tragedy.
He also prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant them Aljannatul Firdausi, and give their families the strength and patience to bear the painful losses. He further prayed for the safe return of all persons abducted during the attacks.
The senator called on security agencies to intensify efforts towards restoring peace and strengthening protection for vulnerable communities across the Sokoto-Zamfara axis, stressing that citizens deserve to live and pursue their livelihoods without fear.
“Our people deserve to live in safety and pursue their livelihoods without fear,” he said.
Tambuwal, further, urged residents to remain united and resolute in supporting all genuine efforts aimed at ending banditry and restoring lasting peace to affected communities.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives and measures designed to improve security and protect lives and property across Sokoto State and beyond.
