The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Cross River State Command has said it would soon commence the clampdown of unregistered motorcycles, and tricycles in Cross River State.
The State Sector Commander, Mr. Abdulahi Hassan disclosed this on Monday at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre in Calabar during a courtesy call to the new state working committee of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) led by comrade Gill Nsa.
Mr. Hassan said: “As directed by the management of Federal Road Safety Corps Head Quarters Abuja, all motorists, tricyclists and motorvyclists whose vehicles don’t have number plates, or those that do not have genuine number plates are by this notice reminded to immediately go to the State Board of Internal Revenue for the purchase and fixing of the number plates on them”
“This has become imperative as the command through its operatives shall commence arresting and impounding of such vehicles”
“After impoundment, such vehicles shall not be released until after the purchasing and fixing of such Number Plates on them”
In his remarks, the State Chairmen of (NUJ), comrade Gill Nsa had requested for members of the union to be enlisted as corp marshall of FRSC.
The sector commander accepted the request and noted that he will maintained the cordial working relationship of his predecessor with the media.
