A member representing Jalingo 1 constituency in Taraba State House of Assembly (TSHA) under the platform of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Hon. Umar Adamu Sarki has distributed food items and cash to one thousand people in a bid to cushion the current economic hardship in his constituency.
The distribution which took place at Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo Taraba State on Sunday under a heavy security watch put smile on the faces of many individuals who are experiencing hardship as a result of the fuel subsidy removal.À
Speaking with NATIONAL ACCORD at the distribution center, the former gubernatorial candidate under the platform of AA in Taraba State, who decamped to NNPP, Hon. Bello Adamu Kafi, gave kudos to the lawmaker for his efforts in making an impact to the people to feel the dividends of democracy.
Bello who doubles as the chairman contact and mobilization movement to Hon. Aminu Abdulrahman Liman campaign organization for the forthcoming by election in Jalingo, Yorro, Zing House of Representatives, under the platform of NNPP, said: “a radical political scholar defines democracy as government of the people, so the people owned the government and they deserve it’s dividends”.
Meanwhile, the chairman NNPP Taraba State Hon. Abdullahi Ade, has applauded the lawmaker for providing food items to cushion the hardship which is hitting hard on people.
He added that since the returned of democracy in the country, no elected member, who represented Jalingo 1 in the state house of assembly, has given special attention to the people. He said the NNPP candidate would emerge victorious in the forthcoming by election of Jalingo, Yorro Zing House of Representatives NNPP.
In the same vein, a traditional leader, who is among the beneficiaries, the village Head of Barade Ward in Jalingo, Chief. Aliyu Ajiya Muri, expressed his appreciation to the lawmaker for supporting the people with food items and cash during this period of economic difficulties.
Chief Aliyu, who explained that, the benefactors are from various communities within the five wards of Jalingo 1 constituency, advised the lawmaker to continue his good work in the community.
