
Former Governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sherrif

A delegation of journalists from the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the Borno State Council of the NUJ, led by Vice Chairman Abdulkarim Haruna and Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel Ndahi Salihu Marama, on Tuesday paid a condolence visit to former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.
The visit was to offer condolences following the passing of his mother, Hajjiya Aisa Galadima Modu Sheriff, on Sunday at the age of 93 after a prolonged illness.
The delegation included the Secretary of the Council, Financial Secretary, Ex-officials members, and representatives from various chapels, including the University of Maiduguri, Federal Information, and BRTV chapels, as well as the Chairperson of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ).
A letter of condolence for the bereaved family on behalf of all working journalists in the state was delivered to Senator Sheriff after prayers were offered for the repose of her soul and f God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss .
The former governor could not hide his feelings and appreciation to receive the delegation while thanking the journalists for their condolence visit.
He prayed also God to reward them accordingly in this world and hereafter.
