
DG Benue Public Service Institute Makurdi, Prof. Terkura Tarnande

The Director General, Benue Public Service Institute Makurdi, Professor Terkura Tarnande has sought the collaboration of the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for optimal performance at the third tier of government in the state.
The Director General (DG) spoke on Thursday during a courtesy call on the Special Adviser, Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Dennis Akura.
Professor Tarnande informed that the collaboration between the Institute and the bureau would facilitate speedy progress at the Institute in line with the desire of the Governor of the state.
Tarnande appreciated the Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia for the foresight in the establishment of the Institute as he expressed confidence that the collaboration with the bureau would ensure adequate training for enhanced performance at the local government level.
The DG announced the planned training for local government elected officials saying as the supervising bureau, the Institute needed the synergy to enable her achieve the required mandate.
Responding, the Special Adviser Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Dennis Akura who expressed the readiness of the bureau to collaborate with the Institute assured that the Institute was established at the right time and appreciated the management team of the Institute for living up to standard.
The Adviser pointed out that the state had suffered in the hands of mediocres for long and with the establishment of the Institute, the civil and public servants would be equiped to carry out their duties efficiently.
He lauded the planned training of local government elected officials saying, that the training would equip them to carry out their assignment creditably and with ease.
The management team of the Institute including Mrs. Cecilia Ohemu, Director Administration and Finance, Mr. Cletus Shimave, Director Programmes, Dr. Mark Nyitse, Director Research and Publication and Dr. Moses Ode, Director Library Services accompanied the DG while the management staff of the bureau joined the Special Adviser to receive the team from the Institute.
