Bauchi State Police Command has deployed tactical teams to Mansur village in Alkaleri Local Government Area following a recent attack by armed bandits.
The incident, which occurred on May 4, 2025, resulted in the loss of several lives, including members of a vigilante group and civilians.
According to reports, a combined team of professional hunters from Duguri and Gwana District were ambushed by armed bandits while on patrol. The police received a report of the incident and swiftly dispatched operational tactical teams to the scene, where they recovered bodies of casualties.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has strongly condemned the killings, describing them as “utterly reprehensible” and a significant threat to the peace and security of the state. He has assured the public that the police will conduct a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
CP Aliyu has extended his condolences to the families affected by the tragic event and urged everyone to remain calm and vigilant. He has also called on the public to support the police in their efforts to apprehend those responsible for the attack.
The police command has mandated a specialized team to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and individuals found to be connected to the heinous act.
