The third batch of Borno State pilgrims departed for Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday, May 21, 2025.
A total of 315 pilgrims at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport Maiduguri, accompanied by two officials from Borno State, took off for the holy land, marking another milestone in the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.

In his remarks, Senator Lawan urged the pilgrims to remain steadfast in their prayers, not only for themselves but also for the peace and prosperity of Borno State and Nigeria, particularly in the face of ongoing security challenges.
Kaka Shehu expressed gratitude to Governor Babagana Zulum for his commitment to building resilience and promoting sustainable development in the state.
The Senator reaffirmed the Borno State Hajj Committee’s dedication to facilitating a seamless and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage for all participants.
“We remain committed to ensuring that every aspect of your journey is well taken care of, and we wish you a safe journey and a blessed Hajj,” he said.
