
A commercial bus on fire

A devastating accident occurred on the Zaria-Kano Highway, claiming the lives of 21 people, with three others sustaining injuries.
The Kano State FRSC Sector Commander, Mr. Muhammed Bature, revealed that the crash involved a DAF Trailer and a Toyota Hummer bus, which collided head-on and burst into flames.
According to Bature, “The cause of the incident was as a result of route violation by the driver of the Toyota Hummer Bus, which led to a head-on collision with the trailer, both vehicles were engulfed by fire.
“The burnt bodies were taken to Nassarawa Hospital Mortuary, Kano, while the injured were rushed to Garun Malam General Hospital.
Bature urged road users to strictly follow traffic rules, emphasizing the importance of avoiding dangerous overtaking, route violations and night travels.
The sector commander expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended his condolences to the families of the deceased.
He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured victims and assured the public of the FRSC’s commitment to ensuring road safety.
