The rescued woman
By OLA MODUPE, Lagos-
Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command has rescued a woman who attempted to take her own life by jumping into the lagoon from the Carter Bridge.
The RRS disclosed this in a post shared via its X handle @rrsLagis767 on Friday.
According to the RRS, operatives on patrol intervened at about 12:20 p.m. and prevented the woman from jumping into the lagoon.
The Commander, CSP Shola Jejeloye, listened to her story and facilitated a private family meeting with her husband and 30-year-old son to resolve their differences.
After the meeting, CSP Jejeloye counseled the woman and offered her a cash gift.
“The family expressed deep gratitude to the commander for the squad’s timely intervention, his heartfelt advice, and the financial support,” the RRS stated.
The woman has been released into the care of her husband and son, thanks to the police’s prompt action.
