A Tribute to a Great Leader

Governor Dapo Abiodun paid tribute to the late monarch, describing him as a symbol of truth and a guiding light for the people.
“He was not only a revered ruler but also a father figure, who served his people faithfully and championed culture, development, and unity across Ijebu community,” Abiodun said.

The late Awujale’s reign, which spanned over six decades, brought remarkable progress and global recognition to Ijebu.
He was hailed by dignitaries, including former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, ex-governors Olusegun Osoba and Gboyega Oyetola, and Minister Bosun Tijani, as Nigeria’s most influential traditional ruler.

The attendance of business magnate Alh. Aliko Dangote and many other prominent Ijebu sons and daughters is a testament to the late monarch’s enduring impact on the community.
His historic reign as Nigeria’s longest-serving first-class traditional ruler will be remembered for generations to come.
