Nigerian Army has intensified its crackdown on terrorist networks and criminal syndicates, achieving significant successes nationwide.
In a series of operations, troops neutralized scores of terrorists, arrested suspects, and recovered stolen livestock.
In Borno, troops of 29 Task Force Brigade launched a precision ambush along the Lambawa-Kalari axis, killing a terrorist affiliated with the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
The operation yielded a Dane gun, bicycle, and assorted motorcycle parts.
The army facilitated the surrender of 26 ISWAP family members, including women and children, in the Gwoza, Bama, and Damboa axis of Borno.
A surrendered insurgent revealed that he had fled a terrorist training camp, highlighting the pressure on terror cells.
In Niger State, the source said troops conducted a successful exploitation mission in Awallah Village, recovering 95 cows, 37 calves, and 12 sheep previously rustled by terrorists.
According to him, forensic evidence suggested the elimination of high-value terrorist targets during the preceding air assault.
Troops arrested seven criminal suspects linked to various crimes in Taraba, Delta, and Bayelsa States. Incriminating evidence, including mobile phones, radios, and locally fabricated weapons, was seized.
