Nigerian women's basketball team, D'Tigress

Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has extended his warmest congratulations to Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, on their record-breaking fifth consecutive AfroBasket championship title.
In a heartfelt post on X, Obi praised the team for their exceptional performance, saying, “Congratulations D’Tigress, you did it. You played like true queens of the court—fearless, fast, and unstoppable.”
He commended the players for giving their absolute best and showcasing Nigerian excellence on the global stage.
Obi expressed his gratitude to the players for pouring their hearts into every game and to Coach Wakama for his leadership and strategic guidance.
“Thank you for your leadership, strategy, and belief in this team, you guided them like a true champion maker,” Obi said.
The victory has brought immense pride to the nation, with Obi noting that D’Tigress has made Nigeria and Africa proud.
“You’ve made Nigeria proud, you’ve made Africa proud, and you’ve made history by being the AfroBasket champions five times in a row,” he added.
Obi concluded by congratulating the team, saying, “Congratulations Queens @DtigressNG, you are indomitable.”
