Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Thursday held a breakfast meeting with top diplomats in Abuja, describing the engagement as productive and enriching.
The meeting, which brought together representatives from the United Kingdom, European Union, Germany, Canada, and France, focused on strengthening relationships and fostering mutual cooperation.

Peter Obi disclosed details of the meeting in a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, highlighting the significance of diplomatic engagement and dialogue.
“Today in Abuja, I had a breakfast meeting with some diplomats that included, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria and his Colleagues from European Union, Germany, Canada, and France. It was an enriching discussion on relationships,” Obi stated.

The former Anambra State governor has consistently emphasized the importance of international partnerships, particularly in areas of economic development, governance, and institutional strengthening.
Political observers say such diplomatic engagements reflect ongoing conversations between Nigerian political leaders and the international community on the country’s democratic development and economic prospects.

The Abuja meeting comes amid growing interest from global partners in Nigeria’s political and economic landscape, with stakeholders continuing to explore opportunities for collaboration and sustainable development.
