Husband of Mrs. Patricia Anaele, a school nurse allegedly killed by a security guard at Clear Hope Foundation Academy in Abuja, has come forward to reveal the shocking details surrounding her death.
According to Mr. Emmanuel Anaele, his wife was murdered in cold blood, contrary to initial reports suggesting she was kidnapped and later killed.
The tragic incident occurred on July 23, when Mrs. Anaele and a 14-month-old baby under her care in the school’s crèche were allegedly killed by David Moses, the school’s security guard.
Moses, who is currently in police custody, initially claimed that he and his accomplice, Sunday, now at large, abducted the victims and later killed them over a dispute on sharing a ₦3 million ransom paid by Anaele.
*Rejection of Kidnapping Narrative*
However, Anaele rejects this narrative, insisting that his wife and the baby were killed inside the school premises.
“My wife and the baby were killed right inside the school by David Moses and his accomplice. She was never kidnapped,” Anaele stated during a press briefing held in front of the school.
*Lack of Communication from School*
Anaele expressed his outrage over the lack of communication or sympathy from the school’s proprietor since the tragedy occurred. “This shows complicity or gross negligence. We are calling on the FCT administration to take decisive action,” he said, emphasizing that the school operated without proper security vetting.
Warning of Potential Future Tragedies
Anaele warned that without urgent intervention, more lives could be lost due to the school’s apparent negligence.
“This is a ticking time bomb. If justice is not served, it will happen again. Another child, another parent could die,” he cautioned.
Arrests and Investigation
Several individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, including the school principal, the head of the contracted security firm, and other school staff.
Anaele commended the police anti-kidnapping unit for their efforts thus far and expressed hope that the other suspect on the run would be apprehended soon.
Parent’s Concerns
A parent, Mr. Femi Emmanuel, revealed that he and his wife had been considering withdrawing their child from the crèche due to poor services prior to the incident. “We had already been thinking of taking our child out of the school due to the poor services,” he said.
School’s Status
As of the time of this report, Clear Hope Foundation Academy remains sealed by authorities, pending further investigation and possible prosecution of those implicated.
Pursuit of Justice
Anaele’s determination to see justice served is evident in his words: “I believe this was never just about ransom; it was murder.”
The case has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for accountability and stricter security measures in schools.
