North East Zonal Director of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW), Major General Abubakar Adamu (rtd), charged NYSC Corps Members 2025 Batch B Stream I serving in Borno State to shun hard drugs, possession of small arms, and dangerous weapons.
Maj. Gen. Adamu said the aim is to eradicate illicit small arms and light weapons in society.
General Adamu urged corps members to prevent illegal activities, promote peace, and maintain peace in society as good ambassadors of the country.
He pledged collaborative support to the NYSC Secretariat and all Corps Members in their primary assignment areas and during community development projects.
According to him, the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons was established in 2021 in the Office of the National Security Adviser to regulate and control small arms and light weapons in Nigeria.
Borno State NYSC Coordinator, Malam Nasiru Bello, assured that corps members will embrace the call and imbibe the culture of decency, peace, unity, and stability of the nation.
He appreciated NCCSALW for organizing the orientation lecture for corps members in Borno State.
