In a series of coordinated strikes, the Joint Task Force, North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), alongside the Air Component, successfully eliminated nine Boko Haram fighters, including two high-ranking commanders, in Borno State.
A reliable military source informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the operations, conducted between August 21 and 22, thwarted terrorist attacks in the Bita and Wulgo areas.
“The neutralised commanders, Abu Nazir, the Munzir of Juye, and Abu Fatima, the Munzir of Koloram, were taken out during intense combat near Wulgo,” the source disclosed.
The source further revealed, “Our forces recovered several AK-47 rifles, a stockpile of ammunition, and six motorcycles from the insurgents.”
The military leadership commended the troops for their decisive action and encouraged them to maintain their relentless efforts in the fight against insurgency, despite significant challenges.
