
Borno Governor Babagana Zulum
Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has constituted a high-powered delegation to monitor the progress of voter’s card registration and distribution exercise within Maiduguri metropolis by INEC.
The committee comprised of the District Head of Mafa and Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Emirates Affairs, Hon. Prince Abba Kawu Abubakar, Garbai ,Chairman of MMC, Hon Tijjani Umar Ali, Brs Loskori, State Party Chairman, Secretary of MMC, MMC Party Chairman, Hon Baba Waziri, Engr Kori Shettima, and Special Adviser to th Governor on Works, Hon Garba Saje .
The delegation embarked on a comprehensive tour of existing and major wards within the Maiduguri Metropolis, the state capital as such,. Mafoni, Bolori I, Bolori II, Gwange I, Gwange II and others to assess the effectiveness of the voter’s card update exercise and collection PVCs by residents of the state capital being conducted by INEC.
The delegation was also assigned to evaluate the progress of work made so far, identify challenges and provide guidance towards ensuring the successful PVCs review exercise.
The leader of the team, Prince Abba Kawuri Abubakar Garbai said the exercise demonstrates government’s commitment to transparent and accountable electoral process.
He added that the proactive initiative of the state government underscores willingness and dedication to good governance and democratic processes.
The team’s findings and recommendations are expected at the moment and of the period to be submitted to the state government for onward decision making towards a successful exercise.
