Akwa Ibom State Police Command has uncovered a suspected cult armory in Ikot Obio Ekong village, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, seizing firearms and apprehending two individuals.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, shared this development with journalists in Uyo on Tuesday. She revealed that operatives, acting on reliable intelligence, raided the suspected cult hideout on Sunday.
“The operation led to the recovery of three locally-made pistols,” John stated, underscoring the success of the mission.
John added that investigations are ongoing to apprehend additional suspects linked to the illegal armory.
“We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents,” she affirmed, promising updates on further developments.
The police’s swift action demonstrates their dedication to curbing criminal activities and maintaining peace in Akwa Ibom.
