Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church celebrated its centenary anniversary on Sunday by honoring 100 distinguished individuals, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, for their contributions to the church and society.
The awards were presented during the C&S Centenary Awards and Dinner held in Lagos.
Chairman of the Awards Committee, Emmanuel Owomoyela, explained that the honors were designed to recognize exemplary service and motivate others to make a lasting impact.
“This celebration is about appreciating those who have served and inspiring our younger members to contribute positively to society,” Owomoyela said during the event.
Highlighting the uniqueness of the C&S Church, Owomoyela expressed optimism about its future, urging members to remain dedicated.
“Our centenary is a milestone that should ignite greater passion for serving God and humanity,” he stated.
Owomoyela also called for support to complete the church’s Moses Orimolade University project in Omu Aru, Kwara State, emphasizing its role in promoting moral values.
“We need collective effort to ensure the university begins academic sessions by 2026,” he urged, noting that the awards serve as a foundation for encouraging members to contribute to the church’s legacy.
The event underscored the church’s commitment to recognizing its heroes while fostering unity and progress for the next century.
