The suspected Internet fraudsters
In a crackdown on online scams, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) Kaduna Zonal Directorate has swooped in to arrest 19 alleged internet fraudsters in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.
The EFCC in a post via its X handle on Friday said the arrested suspects are made up of 18 men and one woman.
The commission said arrested occurred on Friday, September 19, 2025, sparked by solid tips tying the suspects to shady cyber schemes.
The anti graft agency seized a haul of goodies from the crew, including a Honda Civic car, 33 mobile phones, five laptop computers, one peak power generating set, three Bluetooth speakers, a white calabash, and assorted fetish items.
The EFCC said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
