Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has eliminated more than 25 terrorists across key locations in Yobe and Borno states, bolstering security in Nigeria’s volatile North-East region.
The successful operation unfolded on September 18 at Bula in Yobe and the Banki area of Borno.
NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed this in an official statement
released Saturday in Abuja.
Air Commodore Ejodame said drawing on actionable intelligence from ground forces, NAF deployed a coordinated “force package” of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets alongside strike aircraft.
These units according to him, meticulously tracked terrorist movements, pinpointing several clusters north of Banki.
He said real-time intelligence feeds were shared with on-the-ground troops and base command, paving the way for a seamless, synchronized takedown.
“The strike aircraft engaged the terrorists in three successive precision strikes on their movement routes and assembly areas, effectively neutralising more than 25 fighters,” Ejodame noted.
He said follow-up surveillance revealed no lingering threats, with ground units holding firm in defensive postures—a clear sign of the operation’s precision and impact.
Ejodame emphasized the mission’s broader significance, saying “The operation underscored NAF’s decisive support to ground troops, denial of terrorist freedom of action, and unwavering commitment to securing Nigeria’s North-East.”
