
Former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Solomon Aku Ewuga
Former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State and Minister of State for the FCT, Senator Solomon Aku Ewuga, has passed away at 70.
Senator Ewuga, died on Tuesday evening due to ill health, according to a family source.
Born on June 19, 1955, in Nasarawa Eggon, Ewuga was a renowned politician and lawyer. He served as Senator representing Nasarawa North in the 7th Nigerian Senate.
Ewuga’s educational background includes a degree in Political Science from the University of Ibadan and a law degree from the University of Jos. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1988 and practiced law while engaging in various business ventures.
Ewuga’s professional journey spanned journalism, advertising, law, and public administration. He founded Adpure Nigeria Limited, a pioneering indigenous advertising agency in Northern Nigeria.
Ewuga served as Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Technical Committee on Privatization and Commercialization (TCPC). He was General Manager (Compliance) of the Nigeria Provident Fund (later NSITF) and Special Assistant to the Minister of Labour and Productivity.
Ewuga’s political career included serving as Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State and Minister of State for the FCT. He represented Nasarawa North Senatorial District in the Senate from 2012 to 2015.
Ewuga championed issues like electrification, healthcare, water supply, and youth empowerment in his constituency. He attended international courses on privatization, corporate board effectiveness, and governance reform.
Late Ewuga’s legacy reflects his commitment to leadership, public service, and the development of Nasarawa State and Nigeria.
