Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has reiterated its commitment to a unified communication strategy, measurable governance impact, and national progress under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking at the PGF 2025 Quarterly Strategic Meeting of Information Commissioners from APC-governed states, held in Maiduguri, the Director-General, Mr. Folorunso S. Aluko, emphasized the Forum’s evolving role as a central force in shaping Nigeria’s sub-national communication architecture.
> “We are reviewing progress, strengthening our strategic posture, and aligning every message with measurable impact,” Aluko said during the technical session themed ‘FGN–PGF Synergy 2025: One Message, One Future’. “This isn’t just a meeting—it is the nerve centre of coordination for our collective vision.”
The quarterly gathering, which took place from October 14–16 in Borno State, brought together Information Commissioners from APC-controlled states to harmonize narratives, refine public engagement, and showcase what Aluko described as “the performing arm of the APC.”
> “Our Commissioners have not only been voices of their states but architects of a credible, united communication front. We are proud of this partnership, and confident that together, we are building a foundation that reflects the Renewed Hope era,” he added.
Aluko praised President Tinubu’s leadership, underscoring the vital role of state governors as “field commanders of development” driving the APC’s transformative agenda across sectors.
> “Under President Tinubu’s leadership, supported by our Progressive Governors and driven by our party’s ideals, we are building a Nigeria that works—strong, united, and hopeful.”
As the Forum looks ahead to 2027, the DG expressed optimism about APC’s expanding influence and governance reach.
> “By the grace of God and the will of Nigerians, the PGF is poised to rise from today’s strength to at least 30 states by 2027,” he stated.
A key highlight of the meeting was the launch of the PGF Value Reorientation Campaign, aimed at shifting public perception from passive citizenship to active national participation.
Aluko also acknowledged the exceptional hosting by Borno State, commending Governor Babagana Zulum for “demonstrating that governance grounded in empathy, intellect, and excellence can turn even complex challenges into enduring progress.”
> “Each APC state today is a lab of innovation—where campaign promises become tangible outcomes,” he noted, citing achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, education, and digital innovation.
Referencing Borno’s transformation, he highlighted projects such as the adoption of electric mobility, youth empowerment schemes, and urban renewal initiatives.
> “From world-class hospitals to smart schools, Borno is speaking the language of hope that every Nigerian understands.”
He also praised the contributions of partners aiding national communication efforts, particularly the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi.
> “Your collaboration with our Commissioners and Secretariat has fortified the framework of national reorientation. Through your efforts, the voices of truth and unity in governance have been amplified.”
The DG listed several PGF communication channels—including the Daily Progressive News, PGF Weekly Pulse, and Quarterly Development Summary—as essential vehicles for telling the APC success story in multiple Nigerian languages.
> “Together, we are replacing fear with facts, and propaganda with performance. Progressivism isn’t theory—it’s the result we deliver daily.”
In closing, Aluko urged attendees to continue aligning state actions with the federal vision.
> “Let us speak with one voice, act with integrity, and serve with renewed hope. This is our mission—to light the path of progress, tell the Nigerian story with truth, and bring the people’s voice to the centre of governance.”
