Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia
By TYAV SAM TYAV, Makurdi –
Former Ambassador to Namibia, Terhemen Tarzoor has endorsed Governor Hyacinth Alia as the gubernatorial candidate for 2027 election in Benue State.
Addressing journalists at the NUJ house in Makurrdi, Benue State on Monday, the former gubernatorial contender in 2015 gubernatorial election, noted that Governor Alia has done a lot to attract the attention of the Benue people for reelection.
Tarzoor said he had aspired to govern the state but what Governor Alia has been doing is what he had intended to do for the people of the state as he also believed that if the governor is given eight years he would transform the state for the benefit of the Benue people.
According to Tarzoor, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume is his leader but he has the right to decide on what he wants to do and emphasized that he was overwhelmed with what governor has been doing in the state.
Tarzoor assured that as a former gubernatorial contender he has a lot of supporters, insisting that all his supporters were with him in his decision to endorse Alia for 2027.
While describing Governor Alia as a visionary leader, Tarzoor disclosed that the governor has demonstrated purposeful leadership even as he pledged to stand with him with his resources to ensure that he returns as the Governor of the state in 2027.
He cited examples of the projects executed by the Alia led Administration in his few years in office to include social amenities and infrastructural development.
“Governor Alia is working with sincerity and commitment,” Tarzoor said.
