Eliminated terrorists and weapons recovered by military troops
Scores of Boko Haram terrorists were neutralized by troops of Joint Task Force North East ‘Operation Hadin Kai’, with support from Nigerien Air Force when the terrorists attempted to invade Forward Operation Base (FOB) in Kangar, Mallam fatori town, Abbadam local area of Borno state.
The incident which took place on Tuesday at about 4:30 am also led to the recovery of arms and ammunition by troops. Sources and credible military officer (name withheld) have revealed to our correspondent in Maiduguri.
Mallam fatori in far Northern Borno is the council headquarters of Abbadam which also shares border with Niger Republic.
It was gathered that the terrorists attacked with armed drones and mortars leading to injuries to some CJTF and soldiers.

According to the sources, “FOB KANGAR at MALLAMF ATORI came under attack at about 0430hrs this morning and was reinforced by the Main Force from the Battalion under Sector 3.
“The terrorists attacked with armed drones and mortars leading to injuries to some CJTF and soldiers. The attack was defeated by the gallant troops supported by the Nigerien Fighter Ground Attack platforms.
“Exploitation so far confirmed 6 terrorists neutralised, 5 AK 47 rifles, 8 AK 47 Rifles Magazines, 258 Rounds of 7.62mm 39 Ammo, 5 RPG Bombs, 4 armed Drone Bombs, 5/ 36 hand Grenade, 2 bandoliers and one android phone recovered while several other terrorist bodies were evacuated by the terrorists as they withdrew in disarray into the waterways of the Tumbuns.
“The Nigerien Air Force further conducted follow up strikes on the retreating terrorists neutralising additional scores of the miscreants.
“Troops morale and fighting efficiency remain high while Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) platforms were also scrambled to provide additional ISR situational awareness to troops and to airlift the wounded who are all in stable condition. Exploitation of the waterways continues by the resilient troops”.
