Chairman of the National Congress Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Hon. Lawali Kaura, has described the recently concluded ward congresses as highly successful and well organised.
Speaking after an inspection tour of selected wards across the state, Kaura, who was accompanied by the committee’s Secretary, Zubairu Lawali, praised party members for their discipline and peaceful conduct during the exercise held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
According to him, the orderly manner in which party members conducted themselves reflected the true meaning of the APC’s symbol, the broom, which represents unity, cooperation, and collective strength.
He noted that the atmosphere of calm and cooperation witnessed during the congresses demonstrated the growing commitment of members to the party’s ideals and internal democratic processes.
Kaura urged party faithful to sustain the same level of maturity and togetherness as preparations continue for the forthcoming Local Government Congresses scheduled for Saturday.
He emphasized that maintaining unity and discipline would further strengthen the party and enhance its credibility ahead of future political engagements.
The committee chairman also commended the leadership of the APC in Sokoto State for making adequate logistical and organisational arrangements that ensured the smooth conduct of the ward congresses across the 244 wards.
He said the collective efforts of party leaders, officials, and members played a key role in the overall success of the exercise, describing it as a positive step towards deepening internal democracy within the party.
Kaura expressed optimism that the peaceful outcome of the ward congresses would set the tone for future party activities in the state.
