President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described former First Lady Aisha Buhari as an “Amazon” and a woman of courage and strong values as she marked her 55th birthday.
In a goodwill message released on February 23, 2026, President Tinubu joined family members, friends, and well-wishers in celebrating the former First Lady, describing her new age as a major milestone.
“I join the family and friends of Hajiya Aisha Buhari to congratulate her on her 55th birthday. 55 is a significant milestone, and I celebrate with the former First Lady on this occasion,” the President said.
Tinubu praised Aisha Buhari for her strength of character and unwavering commitment to her beliefs, noting that she has always stood firm on matters of principle.
“Hajiya Buhari is an Amazon, a courageous and principled woman. She is not afraid to stand alone on matters bordering on her values and ideals,” he said.
He further described her as a woman of consistency and integrity, adding: “She is as ever certain as the North Star; a woman for all seasons.”
The President also highlighted the impact of her humanitarian efforts through the Aisha Buhari Foundation, particularly in supporting vulnerable women and children.
“Through her foundation, the Aisha Buhari Foundation, she has upheld the rights of women and children and provided succour to many families,” Tinubu stated.
He noted that her advocacy has continued to give hope to the less privileged across the country.
“She is a voice for the unheard and the forgotten, championing causes that preserve family values and human dignity,” he added.
Expressing gratitude for her service to the nation, the President commended Aisha Buhari’s resilience and discipline over the years.
“I thank Hajiya Buhari for her contributions to our nation. And I commend her resilience and discipline,” he said.
He concluded his message with prayers for her continued wellbeing and that of her family.
“I wish her a happy 55th birthday, and I pray that God Almighty continue to keep her and her family in good health,” Tinubu said.
