President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have paid glowing tribute to Pastor Enoch Adeboye, describing him as one of Nigeria’s greatest spiritual and moral assets as he marks his 84th birthday.
In a statement released on Sunday, the President and his wife praised the revered cleric, who serves as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), for his enduring commitment to national development, spiritual leadership, and humanitarian service.
They described Pastor Adeboye as “one of our nation’s greatest gifts: a spiritual fortress, interceding for Nigeria and its people to God Almighty.”
The First Family noted that the renowned preacher’s humility and depth of wisdom have continued to distinguish him over the decades.
“His humility is genuine, and his wisdom runs deep beyond the ordinary. His contributions to our nation extend beyond the pulpit—where he ministers to souls—to philanthropy, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment,” the statement read.
They highlighted how his influence has reached far beyond church walls, touching lives through social interventions and community development initiatives.
As Pastor Adeboye clocked 84 on March 2, 2026, President Tinubu and his wife said they were celebrating “the grace of stewardship and leadership” upon his life.
They congratulated him and joined his wife, Pastor Foluke Adeboye, members of the RCCG, and the wider Christian community in thanking God for what they described as “an exceptional life of impact that transcends cultures and borders.”
The President and First Lady also commended the cleric’s unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s unity and progress.
“We thank the Lord’s own servant for his unceasing prayers for our nation and commend his patriotic zeal, manifest determination and commitment to Nigeria’s progress,” the tribute stated.
They acknowledged his role as a moral voice whose teachings and counsel have helped shape generations for more than five decades.
Reflecting on his long-standing influence, the statement noted that Pastor Adeboye’s leadership and messages have continued to transform lives across Nigeria and beyond.
“As Daddy G.O. celebrates this special day, we pray that God Almighty continue to bless him with good health and strength as he continues his good work in the Lord’s vineyard,” the President and First Lady added.
Pastor Adeboye, fondly known as “Daddy G.O.,” remains one of Africa’s most respected Christian leaders, with millions of followers across the world.
