
Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas
Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the ongoing governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The governor cast his vote at Nurul/Wapan-Nghaku Primary School, Hospital Ward, in Wukari Local Government Area, where party members participated in the direct primary election to choose the party’s governorship candidate.
The exercise was supervised by the chairman of the APC election committee and returning officer, Samuel Agbu, who urged party members to remain orderly and conduct themselves in line with party guidelines.
He assured party faithful that the process would be credible and transparent.
“We appeal to all electorate to conduct themselves peacefully and calmly in accordance with the party guidelines. The election will be free, fair and transparent,” he stated.
Governor Kefas is contesting the APC governorship ticket alongside former Minister of Works, Sambo Jaji, following the withdrawal of frontline aspirant, David Sabo Kente, from the race on Thursday.
Speaking shortly after voting, Kefas commended party members and officials for ensuring a smooth and peaceful exercise across the state.
“Security of lives and properties, human empowerment, physical infrastructure and other dividends of democracy will continue to the priority of his administration”, Kefas added.
