
The Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba
The Federal Government in collaboration with the World Bank is to distribute $750 million dollars in the 36 states and the FCT to reduce the effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Minister of State Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba says it is part of the Nigeria COVID-19 Actions Recovery and Economic Stimulus (N-CARES) Programme of the Federal Government.
Prince Clem Agba stated this while taking delivery of vehicles from the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Sa’adiya Umar Farouq in Abuja.
The Minister of State explained that each state would get $20 million dollars while $15 million dollars would go to the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
Prince Clem Agba further said the stimulus programme is to revive the nation’s economy as part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s promise to lift ten million Nigerians out of poverty.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development at the event commended the World Bank for the gesture and said modalities have been put in place to ensure judicious use of the loan.
