Kaduna PDP governorship candidate, Usman Bawa ABG
Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Rt. Hon. Usman Shehu Bawa (ABG), has unveiled his vision to restore peace, prosperity and good governance in the state, declaring that the 2027 governorship election presents an opportunity for residents to end insecurity, hardship and years of socio-economic challenges.
ABG made the declaration while receiving party stakeholders, supporters and well-wishers who paid him a Sallah homage at his residence, where he expressed confidence that the PDP would emerge victorious in the next general election.
The PDP standard-bearer said the party was already mobilising its structures across the 23 local government areas of the state to ensure a successful outing at the polls, stressing that the desire for change among the people was stronger than ever.
According to him, Kaduna State has enormous human and natural resources capable of transforming the lives of citizens if properly harnessed through purposeful leadership and people-oriented policies.
He lamented the persistent insecurity affecting several communities, saying many families have been displaced, livelihoods destroyed and economic activities disrupted by criminal elements operating in different parts of the state.
“It is time for the people of Kaduna State to say no to insecurity and hardship. Our people deserve to live in peace, pursue their businesses without fear and enjoy the dividends of democracy,” he said.
ABG pledged that if elected governor in 2027, tackling insecurity would be the top priority of his administration, adding that his government would work closely with security agencies, traditional institutions and local communities to safeguard lives and property.
He also promised to initiate comprehensive youth and women empowerment programmes aimed at creating employment opportunities, supporting entrepreneurship and reducing poverty across the state.
The PDP candidate further assured residents that his administration would focus on rebuilding critical infrastructure, improving access to quality healthcare services and strengthening the education sector to meet the needs of a growing population.
He noted that sustainable development can only be achieved when government policies are designed to directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens, particularly those in rural communities.
ABG said his vision for Kaduna extends beyond politics, describing the “Restore Kaduna 2027” agenda as a collective movement aimed at returning the state to the path of peace, unity and progress.
“This is not about ABG or the PDP alone. It is about the future of Kaduna State and the wellbeing of our people. Together, we can restore hope, rebuild our communities and create opportunities for every citizen,” he stated.
He called on party faithful and residents of the state to remain united and committed to the cause of good governance, expressing optimism that Kaduna would witness a new era of development and inclusive leadership in 2027.
