ABU VC bags African Forum Scotland Fellowship Award

The African Forum Scotland, Centre for Policy Research and Development, has conferred a fellowship award on the Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Prof. Kabir Bala.

A statement issued by Malam Auwalu Umar, the Director, Public Affairs Directorate of the university, on Monday in Zaria, said the award was in recognition of the Bala’s contributions to knowledge, good governance and outstanding performance.

He said the award was conferred on the vice-chancellor when he visited the Centre for Policy Research and Development in Glasgow, the United Kingdom, where he initiated investment project facilitated by the centre.

According to Umar, some of the investment opportunities discussed during the visit included the China-Nigeria-ABU agriculture project and investment in student hostels.

The statement quoted the Director of the centre, Dr Festus Ogunmola, as extolling Bala’s virtues during the investiture of the vice-chancellor as Fellow of African Scotland Centre for Policy Research and Development.

Ogunmola explained that commitment, dedication, perseverance and resilience guided Bala’s nomination for the award. (NAN)
