African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Borno State has resolved its internal disputes, paving the way for a smooth e-registration exercise and forthcoming party congress.
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday evening in Maiduguri, the State Chairman, Comrade Mohammed Umar Bolori, admitted that his earlier comments criticizing party leaders were mistaken and misleading.
Bolori said his January 12, 2026, briefing, in which he stated, “I address our party’s National Leaders, State Stakeholders and the general members of the party on serious allegations, misconducts and irreconcilable differences”, was “wrong and erroneous.”
He explained that subsequent meetings and reconciliation efforts had helped clarify the situation.
“Therefore, following series and meetings and holistic reconciliation we were made to understand that we acted in error and hence we apologize to our national leaders particularly H.E Kashim Ibrahim Imam and pledged our loyalty to him in the interest of the party and the general party members,” Bolori said.
As part of the reconciliation process, the ADC chairman announced the party’s recognition of the newly inaugurated leadership structures in the state.
“On this note, we officially recognize and accept the inaugurated state transitional committee under the leadership of Alhaji Ali Bukar Wurge and the registration committee under the leadership of Hon. Peter Biye accordingly.
“I therefore urged all our stakeholders to support the committee to carry out their mandates successfully,” Umar Bolori said.
Addressing journalists at the Nanne and Boi Luxury Suites Hotel Conference Hall, Maiduguri, Bolori said the briefing was aimed at correcting earlier statements.
“I have invited you here today to set some records straight in our great party, ADC, in Borno State. You may wish to recall that in my previous press briefing on 12th January, 2026.,” he said.
The state chairman also called on party members and supporters to actively participate in the upcoming e-registration exercise, scheduled to begin nationwide next week.
He stressed that the exercise is crucial to strengthening the party’s internal structures ahead of major political activities.
It will be recalled that the e-registration exercise is part of the coalition groups’ reconciliation and mobilisation efforts in preparation for the party congress, where substantive leaders and candidates of the ADC will be elected ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bolori expressed optimism that the renewed unity within the party would position the ADC for greater success in Borno State and beyond.
