Akwa Ibom Police Commissioner, late Waheed Ayilara

The Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara, has passed away.
According to sources close to the family, Ayilara died in the early hours of Thursday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, after undergoing prostate cancer surgery on Wednesday.
The family confirmed the news, stating, “We are very sad to inform you that our friend, brother, and family, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara, is dead.”
A top police officer in Akwa Ibom State also confirmed the CP’s death, speaking on condition of anonymity. However, the Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom state police command, ASP Timfon John, stated that the command cannot make any comments until an official statement is received from the family.
Ayilara’s passing is a significant loss to the police force and the people of Akwa Ibom State. He will be remembered for his dedication and service to the nation. May he rest in peace.
