
Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia
As part of efforts to fight insecurity, the Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia has pledged to construct the Nyihemba-Anwase-Abande road to ease movement and also enhance patrol and rapid response by security operatives.
Governor Alia also assured the community that he would revive the energy (power) at Anwase, provide water both at Nyihemba and Anwase as well as send additional motorbikes to enhance surveillance.
He made the pledge on Tuesday when he visited the people of Turan, Kwande Local Governmen to have first hand information on the recent attacks at Anwase and Abande communities by the herdsmen.
He told the people that they were not alone and that their lives and dignity remained his top priority even as he promised to make contacts and see to it that network providers provide a network booster in the area to facilitate quick communication when the need arises.
While condemning the unprovoked attacks, Governor Alia, assured of his readiness to enhance collaboration and provision of the needed logistics to security personnel who were in the trenches battling to bring peace to the affected areas.
He further, assured the people of succour in the nearest future stating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was already briefed properly of the untoward development and has directed reinforcement to the area.
Earlier on his way, the governor stopped over at Nyihemba where he interfaced with traditional rulers of Kwande Local Government Area led by the Tor Kwande, HRH, Ambrose Pine Iortyer before he proceeded to Tomataan and Anwase where he addressed the locals most of whom were the directly affected.
The governor later addressed the people of Turan community at Jato-Aka and promised to restore power supply in the area by providing a transformer for the community.
