The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, has called on Governor Bala Mohammed, to sit up and work for the people by addressing the problems existing in various sectors in the State.
Chairman of the APC in Bauchi State, Muhammad Hassan, who stated this in a phone conversation with our Correspondent, said it was imperative for the Governor to sit up and work so that the people can enjoy the dividends of democracy which prompted the APC to come out to contest the election in the first place.
“And for the PDP government that emerged, we call on it to sit up and correct all its mistakes which even prompted us to seek for election in order to get them fixed and we chose a candidate who we knew could do that for us.
“The government should do the right thing and pay salaries, pay pension and gratuity, fix our schools and equip them with infrastructure, renovate and build hospitals and ensure there are drugs there and construct roads where they are needed; these are the things we wanted to come to power to do,” he said.
Hassan said the party has accepted the verdict of the Supreme Court which affirmed Bala Mohammed as the duly elected Governor of the State, in good faith.
He said that since the Supreme Court is the last court in the land, the APC has accepted the judgment just as he expressed gratitude to the party’s candidate, Sadique Abubakar, and their supporters.
The APC Chairman said: “I want to express gratitude to God Almighty because he destines everything. We also want to thank our candidate, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, for firmly standing for us and seriously fought for the rights of the masses of Bauchi State for what the voted for, from the Tribunal and they did what they did and we went to the Appeal Court, they also did what they did.
“They (members) were patient all through these processes and did not cause any chaos or crisis anywhere and we wanted the court to grant us justice up to the Supreme Court’s judgement which was delivered today.
“The judgement was delivered and the court gave judgement on what it thinks is the right thing and we have accepted it since it is the last court.
“The APC is grateful to all its members and supporters at all levels for all their efforts and also to our candidate for his doggedness up to this point and he wasn’t tired.”
He called on the APC members to continue obeying constituted authorities and we always follow laid down rules and regulations as they are known for and “they should continue praying that God will correct the wrongs and bring development to Bauchi.”
Hassan declared that: “Even if be held again today, we are ever prepared and we will filed in our candidate to ensure that those things that needed to be fixed in order to bring dividends of democracy to the masses.”
