PATRICK ABANG, Calabar –

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Chief Chris Agara has expressed his readiness to finance an aggressive membership registration of the party as well as INEC registration in the state.

Chief Agara who was speaking when the recently elected State working committee members of the party led by the Chairman elect, Barr Alphonsus Eba paid him a thank you visit, said he was unimpressed about the low party and INEC registration across the state.

He said even though the party is the ruling party in the state, it must also be conscious of the fact that the opposition is working tirelessly and not resting on its oars inorder to maintain grip of the state, hence the need to keep them in check.

While thanking the leadership of the party for the good job they are already doing, he canvassed for meritocracy in throwing up candidates in the forthcoming party primaries inorder to ease the job of the party in the general elections.

He noted that his support and commitment to the Ayade led administration has been unparalleled.

He said their visit was to appreciate him for the support given to them which led to their emergence, adding that as a critical stakeholder, his guidance and wise counselling was important as they make effort to better the lots of the party.Chief Chris Agara,
