The Sokoto State 2019 All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Honourable Ahmed Aliyu has assured that his party would reclaim its stolen mandate from thr PDP come 2023.
Hon. Aliyu who is now the Secretary, Police Trust Fund, is still perceived by many in Sokoto as the likely candidate of the APC in the next election.
Speaking at the Sokoto South Local Government Secretariat, venue of the APC LG Congress, Aliyu affirmed that the massive turnout is simply but a manifestation of the fact that Sokoto belong to the APC.
While thanking party loyalists for their continued confidence in the leadership qualities of thier state leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, the Police Trust Fund Secretary, said they won the 2019 election and will win again in subsequent elections.
“APC in Sokoto State is the party to win come 2023. For those that are yet to join the winning train, you are still welcome. We are ever willing to accommodate all.”
On his part, the APC National Congress Committee chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Abubakar, said his committee were satisfied by the peaceful conduct of the APC Congress in Sokoto State.
He, however, appealed to those elected to be fair and practice justice to all. “You should strive to ensure that you all collectively build our party, the APC to a more enviable heights
“We have come, seen, and its perfect. No rancour, no violence, no disagreements. I appreciate the degree of political maturity displayed by the Sokoto State APC” Abubakar noted.
