APC wins all 17 LG Councils seats in Yobe polls

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has won all the chairmanship seats in seventeen Local Government Areas of Yobe State in the just concluded election.

Similarly, the party has also won in all 178 councillorship seats defeating the other five political parties that participated in the election.

Chairman, Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission Dr. Mamman Muhammad revealed this while declaring the final results of the election conducted at the 1,714 polling units across the state.

He said only APC fielded candidates for the chairmanship positions, making the party’s candidates return unopposed.

Dr. Muhammad further explained that other five political parties that participated in the councillorship election in some of the local governments were also defeated by candidates of the All Progressive Congress, the ruling party in Yobe.

As at the time of filing this report, there was no official announcement as to when the newly elected Chairmen and Councillors would be sworn-in to office.
