The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has commended Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum for consistently supporting security operations and helping wounded troops through different interventions to the Nigerian military.
The COAS made the commendation on Friday, when he paid a courtesy call on Governor Zulum at the Government House in Maiduguri.
He was received by the Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur as Governor Zulum was out of the state on official engagements.
The COAS was accompanied by the Theatre Commander ‘Operation Hadin Kai’, Major General Gold Chibuisi, the GOC 7 Division, Major General Peter Malla and some senior officers.
The Army Chief informed the Governor that he was in Borno State on operational visits to units and formations under his watch.
He also pledged to sustain operational momentum in the counter insurgency fight against the Boko Haram insurgents
Responding on behalf of the governor, Hon. Kadufur thanked the COAS for the visit and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting the Armed Forces in the ongoing kinetic and non-kinetic operations across Borno State.
