“Governor Ben Ayade, in his resolve to provide succor for Cross River students, has graciously granted express approval for the commencement of bursaries. He has also ordered that exercises leading to such payments begin as soon as the coming week.

“So by the turn of the new week, the State Scholarship Board will begin liaison with student union leaders and stakeholders in the tertiary education sector in a bid to quicken the process for payments,” the DG stated.

She also remarked that the State Government’s scholarship programme will serve to palliate the hardships orchestrated by the burdensome strike action and the prevailing harsh economic realities.

She said the website, when launched will enable potential candidates to sit at the comfort of an internet-enabled phone or computer set, at a click of a button, follow the prompts and provide necessary information needed for registration.

The Scholarship Board boss called on students of Cross River origin in institutions of higher learning to take advantage of the laudable initiative for the advancement of their educational pursuits.

She also implored students to visit the Scholarship Board at the Ministry of Education Headquarters, Michael Ani Secretariat, Calabar, for further necessary information.
